So, today we’re going to combat this bathroom clutter, clear your counters, and refresh the space.
Here are your tasks for today:
- Remove items that don’t belong in the bathroom
- Clear counter of clutter and messy toiletries
- Organize your undercabinet
- Organize your medicine cabinet
If you’re just joining in on the challenge, check out Day 1: the Kitchen, Day 2: the Pantry, and Day 3: the Bedroom, and Day 4: the Closet.
Remove everything in the bathroom that doesn’t belong.
This goes for clothes, shoes, books, or anything else that doesn’t belong in your bathroom (I keep a book in my bathroom, because I’m a heavy reader). If I doesn’t belong, don’t move it from one spot in the bathroom to another with the intention of moving it later – no, move it out right now.
Your bathroom can easily become very cluttered and unorganized from your daily activities. To keep your bathroom tidy and clutter-free, you must always try to put things back where they belong – especially small items, like your makeup. Don’t leave anything out – put it back in its place.
Clear everything off your counters
Everything – except your toothbrush holder, soap dish or soap dish. If you have to put back items like a ring holder or eyeglass case, this is okay if you use them everyday. Your counter should only be used for your everyday essentials.
Organize your cabinet
I used to throw any and everything under my cabinet. At one point, I didn’t know what was under there. Now, I’m working on organizing it so I can clearly see and get to everything that’s in the cabinet. In order to properly organize your bathroom cabinet, you must first remove everything.. Then, you can assess what needs to be thrown out (stuff that you don’t use or is expired) and what needs to stay in the cabinet. Stack-able storage organizers work great in your cabinet, because you can maximize the space and easily see and access the items inside them.
Other solutions for your bathroom cabinet are pullout racks for your toiletries or a towel bar on the inside door of the cabinet.
If you have drawers in your cabinet, now is the perfect opportunity to declutter and organize them like you did your kitchen drawers in Day 1 of the challenge. Maximize your drawers with adjustable drawer organizers that can hold your makeup, hair accessories, and/or medicine.
Organize your medicine cabinet
First, empty out your medicine cabinet and toss anything that’s expired, useless, or broken. If you have adjustable shelves, try adjusting them to fit your tall items. Use small plastic storage boxes to hold your tiny items, like jewelry, makeup, or face creams. Make sure to group like items if possible. For example, store makeup on one shelf and medicine on another.
That’s all for now, guys! Tomorrow we’ll be organizing the living room!
