A new series where I share things I’m currently obsessed with, updates from past design projects, and new décor & places I’ve discovered.

I’m so excited for this new series. I’m making it a weekly series to share things that I love, design project updates, and newly discovered décor & places around New Orleans.

What I’m Obsessed With

My New Bar Top Makeover

I’ll be sharing more details about the makeover tomorrow, but I just had to share a pic of what my bar top looks like. It was a fairly easy project of painting the original stone counter with a charcoal gray paint and then using EnviroTex Lite to give it a high-gloss, glass-like finish. I’m obsessed! You can see the full tutorial here.

Juju Hats

I don’t know if this would ever be a lost obsession for me, because I’ve loved jujus for a long time. I bought mine a year ago from Wayfair and it’s been bounced around every room in my apartment and new home ever since! Looking for a juju hat? Grab one from Hoardaculture or Old World Shoppe on Etsy.

My New Kitchen

There’s something so magical about a fresh, clean kitchen, and I would have never had that fresh feeling with the old look of the kitchen. It was way too dark and brown and made me feel claustrophobic with the drop ceiling that made the room seem cramped and small. It IS a small kitchen, but by brightening it up and doing a little bit of construction, it feels so much more spacious.

Project Updates

Mardi Gras AirBNB

I haven’t shared any photos from this project as I wanted to make sure that I could get it completed first. Well, I’ll be done with this week and can’t wait to share some photos! It’s already turning out to be a great project. I have a few DIY projects that I plan to share from the home, too. My client has a double and wants this particular side of the house to have a Mardi Gras theme. I know her renters will love staying in this place when they visit New Orleans. Make sure you’re following me on IG to keep up with sneak peeks!

#TransitionalNOLAProject

This project has been a blast to work on. I’m basically updating my client’s entire first floor of her home with new décor. We’ve gotten new furniture, paint, art, and lots of new accessories. We’re waiting on just one more piece (this console table from Wayfair) for her living room, for this project to be checked off the list. Then, I can have photos taken. Here’s a before and after of both the living room and dining room areas. Want to hire me? Hit up the services page!

My Entry Project

I need a hashtag for my home that makes it easy to track on social media. If you have any ideas, leave a comment or shoot me an email or DM on Instagram. Right now I’m working on my entry project. The plan is below and you can find out more here.

The #eclecticbohocolorProject

You guys have probably seen lots of sneak peek from this quick project, which is very different from other projects that I’ve done. My client has fun, quirky personality and now her home is a direct reflection of her. It was such a fun project. Here are some photos, shot by Britt Smith Photography.

My Plant Babies Updates

Remember my fiddle leaf fig tree, Jungle? Well, it went from tall and luscious to just a small, singular branch, and now it’s starting to thrive again. I can’t believe I’m starting this one over. I literally cut it down to about 1.5 feet and now it’s a little baby again. I’ll share more details in a part 2 of the initial post, but for now I’m just admiring the way plants work.

Can you believe that? It initially started as me trying to propagate the fiddle leaf, because it was dying. While I waited for some kind of growth from the leaves and branches that I tried to propagate, I decided to cut the tree all the way down and move it outside. Nothing happened with the leaves and branches, but in about two weeks, I started see teeny tiny leaves growing from the tree that was cut down. That was back in June. Look at it now!

I also have another fiddle leaf fig tree, Juicy, that looks great! It hasn’t grown new leaves in a copy months, but earlier this year, it was down to just 3 brown leaves. I’m so happy with the progress, but hope I can get a little more growth before it goes dormant for the winter.

So, that’s all for now, y’all! Be sure to check back new week for the next edition of Sunday’s Best!

Till next time,
