I’ve been leading up to this reveal for some time now.
I shared the inspiration for the space here.
And… a bunch of pics on my Instagram of small projects I was completing.
As you may know, I’m in love with small spaces and I’m on a mission to help you guys creatively decorate your own small homes. I live in a one bedroom apartment and run my business entirely from home, so it’s important that my home looks great and is functional for both living and working.
Now, that I’m done decorating my living room (well, sort of… I just have a couple more items I want to get), I can finally show you around.
I purchased the two furry pillows from Pier1 and the black and white cow print is from my shop. I’m making more pillows to put on the sofa. I’ll update you guys when they’re finished.
(Below) My canvas cow art from Kirklands is one of my favorite parts of the room. It seriously makes me smile everyday. It’s not a piece I would normally chose, but I fell in love with the colors.
The beaded pillows were purchased from Pier1.
I am so glad that I used this system for my wall shelving. I purchased it from Home Depot and it’s been incredibly convenient. It’s only 12″ deep, so it doesn’t take up much space, but it’s still deep enough to put books, mags, accessories, and our TV on it. It’s also fully customizable.

Till next time,
One of my most recent clients hired me for online decorating services. One thing I like about my e-decor projects is that I projects are completed faster and in that time, I have to be more creative than ever. I work extremely hard trying to find an awesome solution for my client’s space(s). My design boards have to be even more appealing than those of local projects, because my clients have to picture the design I’m suggesting without having me in front of them showing where each piece of furnishing, art, and accessory can go.
My latest client knew she loved the comfort-glam spaces, and had a lot of pieces (furniture) that she loved. She just had a hard time putting it all together.
She loves navy blue and wanted a space that looks magazine worthy, but also inviting and comfortable. I chose to have gray as the base color for both rooms and accent with blue.
Here’s the design I came up with for the gray and blue living room.
For both the living room and bedroom, I used a gray and blue color scheme. For the living room I chose this awesome horse canvas art that has shades of gray, taupe, and brown. The gray rug grounds the furniture and the blue and gray pillows bring in a fun contrast on the sofa. The ottoman is very stylish in this rich shade of blue. I also specified metallic finishes in the terrariums and picture frames.
The bedroom has classic style using a mostly gray color scheme with shades of blue. I am in love with the arm chair!! The sconces would look great on both sides of my client’s television that will be hung on the wall. The architectural art prints is one of my favorite parts of the room and the gray grasscloth wallpaper is one I wish I had in my own home (it sucks to live in an apartment).
**Note: Due to the privacy of my client, a lot of details were left out for this post, including before photos. Since this is a client project, I do not release where to purchase any of the items included on the boards.**
What do you think of these two room designs? Do you like the idea of a gray and blue color scheme in your living room or bedroom? If you’re interested in having me help you with your decorating project, check out my online decorating services.
Till next time,
I subscribe to the National Geographic mostly because I love learning about what goes on around the globe, but also because they always have the most amazing photos. In one of the newsletters they sent me, I fell in love with this photo of a manatee. The color scheme is calming, cool, and even bright (the beaming sun in the background). I knew I would use the same colors in a bedroom design.
I wanted to add yellow for contrast and to make the space more fun. Grays, whites, silver, and aqua blue are the colors prominent in the National Geographic photo and really are the perfect colors for a bedroom.
What’s your favorite part of this bedroom design board? Drop a comment and let me know!
