Suffering from an ugly home? Do you feel like your home good use better furniture, a new wall color, and some gorgeous accessories? My philosophy is simple: infuse your personality into a beautiful, functional space you’ve only dreamed of – that doesn’t break the bank. I pride myself in giving my clients the best design their money can buy and won’t cut corners to present a beautifully executed transformation. I have 5 ways to serve you, whether you live in New Orleans or anywhere else in the world. ALL packages start with a design consultation (yep, I do them virtually, too). From there you can chose which way you want to move forward.

How to Work With Me

Design Consultation

During the design consultation, we’ll spending time getting to know each other and discussing your room(s) at length. We’ll discuss aesthetic ideas and possible design direction. Be sure to ask lots of questions. Take a look at my portfolio to get an idea of my design style.

To book your consultation, you’ll fill out the design questionnaire and I’ll contact you to schedule a 15 minute discovery call. We’ll spend this time getting chatting about your expectations of the project and how I work. If you decide to move forward with a design consultation, we’ll schedule a time/date for the consult and I’ll shoot over an invoice for you to pay. Paying your invoice in advance is the only way to secure your consultation on my calendar.

Preparing for the consultation:

Make sure to have lots of questions ready for me. Have notes in hand, so you don’t forget ideas, colors, and styles you’d like for your space(s). Keep magazine clippings or screenshots of rooms that you love, so that I can recommend looks that I think would work well in your home. If you’re completely stumped about ideas, it’s okay, that’s what I’m there for. Get ready to discuss your budget. I’ll be able to let you know how far your budget will go.

What to expect:

At the consultation, we’ll walk around your home, so I can get a grasp of your style and the wants and needs of your problem areas. We’ll discuss aesthetic, yet functional, ideas for your space(s), including space planning, color scheme, paint colors, furniture, and fabrics. These two hours are all about coming up with ideas, so you can have a beautiful, yet functional, space. You’ll receive actionable ideas to get your dream space.

What not to expect:

We won’t be doing any off-site shopping, but you’re welcome to show me products that you’ve been interested in online. I also won’t be able to help you rearrange furniture, paint, or do any professional space planning layouts. I can, however, give ideas for furniture layouts, paint colors, and space planning, that you can implement once the consultation is over. Or, you can choose to move forward and book me for one of my extensive design services.

After the consultation:

Within 1-2 days after the consultation, you’ll receive a recap email of the ideas I recommended and a proposal for expansive design services.

Design Consultations are $250 for up to two hours.

What my Clients Said About Working With Me

Whitney was an exceptional interior designer to work with. I was extremely impressed with the outcome of my master bedroom makeover. I literally had what felt like my very own “HGTV moment”. She truly listened to me about the things that I liked and those things I disliked. She took special care and attention to minor details that made a large impact in the completed space. She has a great balance of showing you options to choose from while still using her professional expertise to really surprise you with a completed space. She keeps you updated with the budget throughout the process and is a very effective communicator. She responds quickly to emails and phone calls and keeps you informed of any road blocks she faces (i.e. delays in furniture delivery or items being out of stock). She is very professional and has such a great eye for design. My friends are so impressed they are excited to work with her too and I look forward to doing another space with her soon!
– T Alexander

I hired Whitney J Decor, to do my dining room, and it came out fabulous! She’s a very good listener, and doesn’t mind the impute of her clients. I’ve had some that wanted to do them, and not me as the client. Whitney J Decor, thank you, I would most definitely recommend and have done so, and will continue.
– C Kennedy

Whitney came in and transformed my dining room. It was a complete gut job and it now looks amazing. I’ve been sharing the before and afters with everyone I know. She was extremely personable and always made me feel comfortable when I got anxious throughout the project. I was hesitant to hire a designer, because I was afraid of costs associated with hiring a professional, but she was afforable and helped me stay within my budget (while giving me the best “bang for my buck”.
– L Faugh

I hired Whitney to help with my remodeling projects which included my family room, formal living room and dining room and she did an awesome job! I live in Florida and she lives in the New Orleans area which is my hometown. She was recommended to me through a longtime friend and she was able to take on my project despite being hundreds of miles away. My rooms are beautiful and I could not be happier. Don’t hesitate to hire this young lady because I promise you won’t regret it.
