Netflix and Chill means something different to different people, but for me, it literally means watch Netflix and chill. Valentine’s Day is my favorite day to stay home with the boo and watch movies all day. Sometimes we do dinner at a restaurant that evening, but other times we stay home and cook.
This Valentine’s Day won’t be much different than others, and I like to set the mood for a Netflix and chill Valentine’s Day with candles, comfy clothes, snacks, pillows and warm blankets.
Woodbridge Reisling wine // wine glass decal set // pajama set // pink sequined heart pillow // fluffy white fur pillow // movie – Beyond the Lights // chocolate-dipped oreo cookies // white faux fur throw // Marshmallow Pop candle
The key to a successful Netflix and chill type of night is to have your list of movies prepared in advance. We never run out of movies to watch, because we are constantly updating our Netflix cue. For Valentine’s Day, I like to stick to romantic comedies, action movies, and Beyond the Lights. I could literally watch that movie everyday. In fact, sometimes I just put it on to fall asleep to – it’s seriously that good y’all. Actually, it’s way better than good.
Other movies that are on my list for this Valentine’s Day are:
- Bad Boys II
- The Wedding Planner
- Dirty Dancing
- The Notebook
- The Equalizer
- The Man From Nowhere
- The Best of Me
- Black or White
- Half of a Yellow Sun
I know you’ve noticed that these movies aren’t exactly new, but it doesn’t matter. I’ve actually watched all but two of these movies at least once, but that won’t stop me from trying to get to them again on Valentine’s Day! I won’t give you the run down on them, because you can easily see what they’re about on Netflix (in case you’re not familiar with them). If anything, add BEYOND THE LIGHTS to your list. It’s the PERFECT love story!!
Follow me on Instagram, I’ll be sharing more of my favorite Valentine’s Day movies throughout the week.
Before you start your movie, you want to make sure that you’re comfortable in your favorite “chill” clothes and have lots of comfy pillows and throws to cuddly up with.
Don’t forget your favorite wine and snacks!
My friend, Linda at The Home I Create, made these delicious looking cookies. They’re also really easy to make.
Candles are a must for intimate nights, even when you’re just watchting movies. If you love DIY projects, you’ll love creating your very own candles for your Netflix and chill Valentine’s Day with this tutorial from my friend, Lisa at Monaa Lisa Styles.
If you’re looking for something to wear that’s a bit more on the “Netflix and chill” side (ahem)… not the Netflix and chill that I was… nevermind…
The fabulous Nicole at She Does a Bunch rounded up her favorite lingerie. I’m in love with these pieces!!
And here are a couple more fun Valentine’s posts from my other favorite bloggers:
