Vibrant, Eclectic Bedroom Design – One Room Challenge – Week 2

The ORC challenge has me so excited to finally get my bedroom together. Last week I announced I was joining the ORC challenge and this week I’m sharing my design plan for my bright, eclectic bedroom and some room inspiration.

As I mentioned before, I want my bedroom to be light and moody. I want it to be vibrant with color and a nod to nature. I love indoor plants and trees and plan to bring some in my bedroom.

I have in mind a neutral look that’s electric with bold texture and pattern, but also inviting. If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram, you’ve seen my eclectic style before, especially recently for the #FABFALLFEST reveal, but expect to see some surprises.

Design Board

There’s a lot of “not sures” as of now, but I plan to have it all figured out as I’m out shopping for a few key pieces for the room. I definitely know that I want a long bench (or two smaller ones) at the foot of the bed, but if I can’t find any, I’ll do a chair and a small, round table instead. I know I want some fun art to hang on the long wall next to my bed, but also some smaller ones to hang above the right night stand. I’m also planning to paint my nightstands black and change the knobs to more glamorous ones.

Here’s some rooms that’s been inspiring me:

Okay, so I know this is a bit backwards, but I still haven’t picked out my paint color, yet. It’s going to be between a deep green or a deep, bright blue, but I haven’t decided yet. I’ll try to make the final decision by next week. (The first pic above has the paint colors I like.)

Here’s the projects I have to do this week:

• find a set of chairs or bench for end of bed
• corral all the fabrics that I’m using in the room
• Paint nightstands black & change knobs
• Finalize paint color and paint walls
