I’m redecorating my living room and can’t wait to show you guys the changes I’m making. I’ll be sharing DIYs and HowTos along the way, but first I want to share the rug I just received from RugsUSA.
I went through a countless number of rugs and rounded up a few of my favorites to share with you guys (see them below).
I wanted a rug that was bold enough to make a big impact, but yet classic enough to not bore me too quickly (I get bored with stuff too fast). I really, really, REALLY wanted a colorful rug, but thought against it since I like to switch colors often. Being a pillow designer doesn’t help, either. Each time, I make a new pillow, I want to test it out in my own home and end up wanting to change the entire color scheme.
So, I ending up going with this black and white one:
I loved it a lot when I saw it online, but I love it so much more in person!! If you follow me on Instagram (be sure to follow me there), you’ll see I gave a sneak peek once it arrived.
Here’s my living room with my too small shag rug:
Now, don’t judge me about still having my Christmas tree up, because I promise it’s not coming down until absolutely necessary (when I move everything else out the living room to make room for the new stuff in the reveal next month). I’d probably keep it up all year if I didn’t have to share my space with my boo (if I had a “woman cave”, Christmas decor would STAY up).
I can’t wait to reveal the changes I’ll be making! Later in the week, I share how I did the space planning for my living room, like I did for a client in my first space planning post. Then, you’ll get to see the fabrics I’m choosing and some sketches to see what the space will look like.
While looking for my rug for the living room, I came across these gorgeous beauties below. They were my favorites and I hope to one day be able to use them all!
#3 is a jute one that is perfect for layering rugs. I love to see them used in apartments where the living and dining room are connected. In this case, you need to get one large enough to fit across both your living room and dining room areas and then get cute, smaller rugs to ground each space separately.
I’d particularly love to use the cheetah print (#5) in my office area! It’s so bossy and would make mega impact in a simple space or help set the tone of a fun business gal (like me!)!
Which one of these are your favorites? Leave a comment below.
Till next time,

Great selection for your living room. And how cool is it that you’re a pillow designer? I gotta check out your work. Meanwhile, my favorite rug is #2.

I like RUGS! I hate carpet!!!! I have a red/brown/black color scheme in my house right now, so I am going to need a very neutral colored rug to tie it ALL together!

I hate carpet, too, GiGi! Can’t wait to get out of my poor, sad apartment to look for something with hardwood (real or nah)! Let me know if you need help finding a rug.
