Hey guys! It’s Friday!
Today I’m dropping in to show you the progress I’ve made in my tiny apartment kitchen. Being that my apartment is so small (and that I rent), there’s not many changes I can make. But, as I mentioned in one of my last posts, I’m working to make my kitchen feel more homey and stylish. Here’s a progress pic:
So far, I’ve painted my back walls black and painted the other walls white. The color before was white, too, but old and dirty. I’m already feeling a huge difference just by freshening up the walls with new paint. The black wall draws you in and actually makes the kitchen feel larger. I was skeptical about painting it black, but now I know this was an awesome decision!
As you can also see in the photo above, I have my shelves ready to go up on the wall above the sink. I’m most excited to be able to get some of my foods out of the cabinets and on the shelves. So far, I think I’ll bring out the rice, beans, spaghetti, and sugars. And, decorative trinkets that I’ve been collecting. I’m a firm believer that your kitchen should be an extension of you and the rest of your home. I plan on putting “me” all-up-in this kitchen decor!
I’m adding some storage boxes above the cabinets to store my endless supply of office stuff. Can’t wait to get that stuff out of sight! Here’s some decorative kitchen items that I would love to get to pull my kitchen together. I want a collected, eclectic space that’s also fun to be in. Storage is a MUST!
printable / apothecary jars / storage boxes / canisters / chalkboard canister / copper mixing bowl
That’s all for now, so make sure you keep tuning in to see more progress photos and the reveal!
Have a great weekend and be sure to keep in touch on Instagram and Twitter. I always share updates and love to hear from you guys!
I really want to know… what do you think of the black wall? Making any changes to your kitchen? Let me know in the comments!
Till next time,

I love your choice of the black wall. People are often afraid of painting dark colors in a small because they think darks will make the room feel smaller. When the opposite it true. Looking forward to seeing more of your progress.

Love your ideas! It’s weird to think about, but painting a wall a dark color does make a small room feel bigger. Isn’t it amazing how much of a difference a fresh coat of paint makes? Can’t wait to see the finished design!
