Decorating for Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras is tomorrow and ya’ll know New Orleans is wild and loud this time of year. I’m gonna TRY and make my way to a parade, although I think my spirit is screaming at me not to. LOL. It’s SOOOOO cold, ya’ll! In my IG stories, I shared the CHILDISH temperatures expected for tomorrow and I don’t know if I’m ready. I’m not usually about that parade life!
But, I still love how festive the city gets during Mardi Gras! All the green, purple, and gold everywhere and the beads draped over fencing and trees. It’s so fun!
I recently finished an Airbnb project that will serve Mardi Gras decor all year. Guests visiting New Orleans will LOVE this place. I hope you’re inspired to bring some Mardi Gras decor in your OWN home, if not today, then next year!

I love how festive the living room is! My client purchased the sofa from World Market before hiring me and it’s so fun! I made the beaded wall hanging, which you’ll start seeing more of in my shop soon.
I styled the coffee table with fun decorative accessories and lots of beads. I love how draping mardi gras beads makes a room instantly feel festive. Mardi Gras beads are such a quick, cheap way to decorate for the holiday.
Oh, what’s Mardi Gras without alcohol? If you’re getting ready to rent an AirBNB or other vacation rental, think about leaving behind a small bottle of wine. Guests will love you, I promise! For more help with decorating your own vacation rental, check this out.
On the dining table, I layered more Mardi Gras beads with small masks and these really cute iridescent vases! I bought those vases a long time ago and was so glad that I could use them in this project.
This huge Mardi Gras mask is super cool and makes a huge statement. I also hung a hook on the wall to drape beads on.
In the two bedrooms upstairs, my client brought in the bedding and I just brought in everything around it.
Upstairs is a hallway with a bedroom at each end. I put lots of hooks along the wall and draped beads on them, too. I love how fun this hallway feels now.
Such a cute project! I have been doing a few different vacation rental projects recently, and am so excited to share more about them! It’s become such a popular investment for people here in NOLA that I’ve decided to create a decorating guide for anyone interested in buying their own property to rent out as an AirBNB or other short-term housing. Interested? Sign up for the special Guide to Decorating Short-Term Rentals email list.
So, that’s it for this project, ya’ll, but I have A LOT more coming to the blog! Follow me on IG for behind-the-scenes and sneak peeks.
