Yo, I’m so excited to be sharing this pink and blue transitional bedroom reveal, because it’s the first one that I’m going to be also revealing on YouTube! So, make sure you’re subscribed to my channel. You don’t want to miss it!
Now, if you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen a lot of sneak peeks and behind the scenes of this project. I had a lot of fun pulling it all together for my amazing client. (Isn’t work so much more rewarding when you’re working with (and/or for) great people?)
Before you see more of the beautiful “after” photos, let me share what this bedroom looking like before.
As you can see, my client had a nice shade of gray on the wall and all the big pieces of furniture already. She just needed some warmth and glam accents. Around the rest of my client’s home, she does a lot of color blocking with colors like pink, blue, and purple, so I knew she loved color. The thing she wanted most was a sophisticated, more grown up use of color.
So, after waiting forever for a couple pieces to come in from Wayfair, we were finally able to install. The room turned out beautiful!
The first thing I want to mention is the beautiful wallpaper. The creamy background has these flecks of sparkle and there’s a raised metallic, gold dotted pattern on top. I suggested to my client that we do the entire room, but my client really wanted a one-wall treatment and a gold paint color on the rest of the walls.
Gold paint? That was hard to find. Everything that even remotely look “gold” was cheesy looking, but I was able to find a few that I really liked that I thought my client would, too.
She settled on the ‘Earthy Ocher’ from Olympic and I’m so glad she did! It’s more like a taupe-y tan, very warm, but not too traditional (which is what I was afraid of).
The huge light fixture is from Wayfair and is beautiful!
The drapery panels are one of my favorite accents in the room, because they’re really bold and luxe. I love how the gray background contrasts against the tan and cream walls and how the blue gets repeated around the rest of the room. I actually used these panels (in a different color) for another project, and didn’t realize it until they came in. I thought they were just similar, but when they came in they were literally the same ones. They’re that fabulous, though, and GREAT quality. Get them here at Joss and Main.
The panels sandwich the reading nook, which is this fab chaise, floor lamp, and side table combo. The chaise was one of the pieces we waited a long time for, and I think I can speak for my client when I say: IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! But, did you see how the delivery driver left this thing sitting outside my front door? I showed it on my IG stories (you’re following me, right?). It’s massive and was almost blocking my entire front door!
I styled the chaise with my black and white dotted pillow and a shimmery lumbar with oversized buttons. So fun!
And, did you notice the three pieces of art in the back? They’re original pieces by yours truly! I’m gonna share how to do them in a future YouTube video, so make sure you’re subscribed! I basically just painted the designs using pink and gold acrylic paint on white paper and framed it in beautiful gold frames from Target. They seriously look like they were purchased from a store just like this. Nothing like DIY art.
I found all the pillows on the bed from Home Goods and the bedding from Nate Berkus’ line at Target.
The lamps are from our local Nadeau and the nightstands are from Joss and Main. They were perfect to bring some fun to the traditional style furniture that she already had. The Surya rug was a gift from my client’s friend and weren’t actually apart of my design. But, it worked out perfectly, though.
The large canvas art was also made by me. I made the frame for it and actually used drop cloth as the “canvas”. I’ll share that one on YouTube, too.
On the other side of the room, I added a framed quote and a few accessories to the dresser, like the beautiful mirrored box with blue top and acrylic tray.
