Simple Last Minute Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas

Two of my favorite bloggers (Alaya of Behind the Big Green Door and Carli of Fearfully & Wonderfully Made) and I are each sharing a last minute Thanksgiving tablescape.

I love a beautiful tablescape, especially during the holiday, but, I hate having a lot of stuff on my table if I’m not using it. Which means my tablescapes are usually simple and last minute, because I’m usually short on time when trying to pull something together.

So, I wanted to share with you how I pulled together my quick, last minute Thanksgiving tablescape that’s really easy to replicate.

So, what do you need for a simple tablescape? Here’s my tablescape essentials:

flowers
tablecloth (I don’t always use them, like you’ll see below)
one decorative plate for each place setting
one bowl for each place setting
pretty silverware
showstopping wine glasses
cloth napkins for each place setting
glasses for water
pitcher for water
tray or table runner for middle of table
candles
cute bowls for nuts or candy
a gift for each guest to be placed at their setting

I decided not to use a tablecloth, because I like the view under my table. (Remember, I just got these chairs, so I’m still relishing in their beauty.) So, for color, I used a placemat in a burnt orange color. I bought my flowers from a local grocery store.

Thanksgiving is 3 days away, so I had time to do a bit more to the table. But, because I’m showing you an example of what my last minute tablescape would look like, I didn’t buy anything new except the flowers, nuts, candy, personalized wine stoppers, and napkins (couldn’t find the ones I already have).

So, I used what I had on hand. One thing that I love to have for tablescapes, is a gift for each guest. I bought the personalized letter wine stoppers for each setting and added a chocolate candy.

Then, I used the beautiful wood bowls for pistachios and cashews. They come with marble lids, so I can close the bowl and keep the nuts fresh.
