I’m ready to start preparing for all things SPRING at home and at my deisgn studio, but New Orleans weather is so DISRESPECTFUL. I’d be lying if I told you temps were getting warmer, because while it’s 65 degrees today, tomorrow it might be 45 and then Friday it’ll be 70. Ya just never know, ugh!
Still, I’m thinking about all the cute decor changes that are happening in my living room, especially the fun custom pillows. You can see a peek at my new sofa here. I promise you’ll be surprised by the color I picked. I’m also prepping for a major paint change in my home that I can’t wait to share more about.
But on to this post… how often do you buy pieces over and over again? As an Interior Designer, you absolutely want to make sure all your client’s homes are unique and different from the masses. But, sometimes when I find an item that works, I use it whenever the budget needs something that I know works with the design, while also being a good quality that I can trust in a client’s home.
I’ll do a separate post sharing how I do this successfully, where it’s not even noticeable. But, one example would be these faux dupioni silk drapes from Joss & Main. I’ve actually used these too many times to count. I don’t typically purchase retail curtains, but when I do, it’s usually these. They come in so many colors and lengths and are gorgeous and heavy. They’re lined beautifully and hang like custom drapes.
Then, the Riesner Accent Mirrors are awesome for bathroom mirrors. I’ve used them in several clients’ homes, my own, and in my design studio bathroom. They’re simple, but good quality, and the metal black finish that I typically purchase goes with most designs.
In my design studio and in my own home, I have these Wooden Blanket Ladders that I absolutely LOVE! They’re stylish AND functional! They look great alone, or draped with your favorite blankets and throws. To do something unexpected, use one of these in your bathroom to hold your towels. Guest will LOVE this!
See, if it’s ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I have so many other items that I rely on when the budget might be tight and I need a key piece for a project that I know will work with the style and budget. I’ll share more in a later post.
Things that I’m ready to add to my list of repeat items are chaise lounges and armoires that can be used in so many different ways. I love to see a chaise in a large room separating two different seating areas. I have the Corvi Double End Chaise Lounge planned for a client’s living room.
Armoires are perfect for holding clothes in a bedroom, storing just about anything in a living room, and can even sit pretty near your kitchen as a stylish pantry for food storage! I wish I had the space to use one of these in my own home. My lack of food storage seriously irritates me.
Side note: I’ll be revealing my guest bathroom and master bedroom really soon! So, make sure you pop back into the blog and follow me on Instagram for behind-the-scenes footage!
Till next time!

Good advice! I want to look into the bathroom mirrors. The ones I have now are so dull! I absolutely love that blue room you did! It’s one of my favorite designs of yours!! I get so many ideas from you!
