I mentioned last week that I had some installs that came up and now I have one more install set for the end of next week. These One Day Makeovers have been popular! Which means ya girl has been busy! Thank GOD!
I did get to get some work done in the laundry room, though. I was able to remove everything from the walls, including the weird alarm electrical box that no longer works and the dysfunctional cabinet. I wish I had taken photos of the inside of it before pitching it out, but that cabinet had the weirdest shelf situation going on and the doors were so tiny. It was the dumbest wall cabinet I’ve ever seen.
But, it’s gone now, along with the mini blinds, the clothes bar, the mirror, and the curtain rod. Here’s a before again…
Now, the ceiling is painted black, the baseboards are gone, and the walls are white. Next week, I’ll either have the floors done (which should have been done, ugh) or the walls stenciled! Here’s a quick vid showing some behind the scenes. You’re following my YouTube channel, right? <———————– If not, click the link!
The floors that are being installed are these really neutral gray, porcelain tiles that we put down in our kitchen and hallway.
I must say… I am LOVING the black ceiling. It was such a great decision. I decided not to scrape the ceiling flat, because I’d then have to get someone in to come and finish it up for me and AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT. I just knocked down the popcorn texture, leaving a little raised texture, and it looks really good! Plus, it was so easy. It took me 30 minutes at most and then I hit the entire ceiling with a coat of primer and then two coats of Behr Marquee’s Limousine Leather.
I painted the walls with Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace (matched to Behr Ultra). I did one coat so far, but might need to do 1-2 more. That part will be done next week for sure.
Stay tuned for next week’s updates!
So what do you think about the black ceiling? Are you excited as I am to see the walls get stenciled? Let me know in the comments below!
Till next time,

LOVE the black ceiling!! It also goes really well with the counter top. Funny how the style of the home can make you change things from your “normal” style, huh?

Exactly, Nikki!! Thanks so much for dropping by!
