My entryway was featured on Design Sponge today!!
This space has been complete for a couple months now, but I’ve been holding off the full reveal until after the feature went live. I shared lots of sneak peeks on Instagram (follow me), but now I can share the full space, ayeeeeeee!
You guys gotta check out the feature for the before photo of the entryway (when I first moved in)!
After we moved in, one of the first things we did was put down the laminate wood floors and paint. I added an oversized bar cart in the entry, but it was way too big. I knew eventually I needed to scale down to a smaller table with storage. I also knew I wanted to do a bold treatment on the walls. I came up with this design plan last year some time and got to work!
The stencil project was really easy, but took FOREVER to complete, because I took a million breaks. I chronicled the whole thing on Instagram, so if you want to see the behind the scenes of projects like this, follow me. The tribal stencil is from Royal Design Studio and the paint colors I chose are Park Avenue and Limousine Leather (my favorite black) by Behr Marquee.
I made the changes slowly after, changing the table, art, and the accessorizing – my favorite part. I’m so in love with this space and all the small details. Here’s what this space looks like now:
My bar cabinet has a new look, too! I house all our paper products here, which makes it easy for guests to grab what they need on their way to our wet bar, where all our food is usually laid out. My afro girl has moved here, along with one of my favorite sculptures and some fun accessories. Every “finished” spot in my home gets to be called my “favorite” at one time or another. I think today this spot is it.
I even got the other end of my hallway complete, where all the bedrooms (and my home office) are. I don’t have a before photo, sorry, but I painted the walls the same color as my living room (Garden Gage by Sherwin-Williams) and added a small console table at the end. My juju got moved from over my bar cabinet (above) to this spot and I love it here, too. The little console used to be black, but recently painted it yellow and it looks sooooo good! I definitely needed the burst of color.
I’m so happy that I can finally put a “finished’ stamp on my entryway/hallway and can’t wait to get the next spaces finished: the laundry room and living room! Make sure you go check out the BEFORE photo of my entryway and leave a comment on the Design Sponge feature!
Till next time,
