If you’ve haven’t seen the rest of my space, here’s the link to the reveal that went live in November: LINK TO REVEAL POST. I even did a cute Instagram reel showing the space. Then, I did Part 1 of the ORC details, sharing close ups around my living room, entry, and hallway!
I can’t believe I am still here working on these spaces! Well, I can believe it… umm we ARE still in the middle of a pandemic and unprecented supply chain issues. The backorders have been killing me! I thought about making new selections to replace the backordered stuff (like my kitchen appliances, cabinet handles, and entryway console), but it wouldn’t be fair to me to not get what I absolutely love. So, I’m waiting on what I really want. I’m still waiting on the extra wallpaper for my home bar to come in (so I can finish that one wall), but that’s gonna take a little while. But, the bar looks great now, so I wanted to share it!
I shared a little peek of my bar from the front, but never the backside of it. Now, that I have the sliding doors put on and the faucet installed (when the extra wallpaper gets in, it’ll go on the wall over the faucet), I can’t hold out any longer. Especially, because we’re enjoying the space.
I’m not even sure where to start, because there’s so much I love about this little space. But, first, let’s see some before photos. The first pic is a photo of what the bar looked like when we moved here and the 2nd pic is from when I refreshed the countertop with paint/epoxy and primed the brick. I never ended up painting the brick with actual paint, because I just hated this space so much. Which is funny, because I had to paint my brick on my living room fireplace, since the tile didn’t come in time to reface it before the One Room Challenge deadline. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE PAINTED BRICK THERE. Maybe if I had actually painted the brick on the bar, I may have actually liked it a little. Haha!
We gutted the entire bar unit, and rebuilt it (well, my dad did), using wall cabinets that we added sliding doors to and a clearance base cabinet that we converted to hold the sink. I have always wanted to use butcher block countertops and after installing it in my design studio kitchenette, I immediately knew I needed to have it on our home bar!
I am legit OBSESSED with my new slate floors. Surprising, they have been really easy to keep clean, which is something I was really worried about.
And, let’s get into the slat detail around the bar! It gives it such a sleeker feel. It’s so simple, but the added detail elevates this project, which was really easy. Kelly Moore sent me some of their paint to try, so I used the DuraPoxy paint in the satin sheen (color: Stiletto) on the entire bar. The black is just what I needed to ground this space and the paint was magical to work with!
I also received all my hardware from Schaub and Company and I am in LOVE! I used the Quadrato pulls in 6″ for all my lower cabinets (kitchen reveal will come as soon as my appliances are in) and the Quadrato pulls in 12″ for the bar sliding doors. Oooooh, and if you missed it, I was able to update the new built-in media console in my living room with Schaub’s 12″ Modo pulls. Check out the quick IG reel – it’s just 30 seconds long. The quality of these handles are all amazing and the Signature Satin finish is gorgeous and luxe.
I added this stunning shell art over the faucet and am super excited to have a shelf here for some additional styling. I received the Stellen prep faucet from Pfister and can you believe this is my first time using a prep faucet? I didn’t even use the old one, because it was so old and dysfunctional. I love how small and dainty the Stellen is, while also being hardworking. The black finish is so pretty and durable. I’ve already mistakenly dropped the shelf and a couple glasses on top of the faucet, but there’s literally no scratches to be found! I’m waiting on a cup rinser, which is another thing I’ve never used, and was shipped the wrong finish by TWO different vendors. It’s a cold world these days, y’all!
Remember, this black wall here is being wallpapered with the wallpaper you see on the left wall. It’s the Tremezzo wallpaper in Bark, from S. Harris and it’s absolutely stunning! And, let’s get into the ceiling fixtures from Hudson Valley! I have no words for how beautiful these are. They’re fun, but also classic in shape. These are the Tobia flush mounts and the pretty black and gold finish is perfect for my eclectic home! Ya’ll… I love it here!
Lastly, I wanted to share some of the decor I’m using at the bar. I picked these hand-carved onyx knives on vacation in Mexico and we actually use these! Random fact about me: I don’t care for too many “just for decoration” decor; I like my stuff to be practical, too. I knew when I picked these knives out that I would use them for cheeses, and that’s exactly what I’ve been using them for, when I do my mini charcuterie boards.
Lastly, Smith Honig sent me so many cute goodies, and I shared most of them in my Part 1 details post, but these super cute cocktail mats and dark purple glass grapes are some of my faves. I keep taking out the cocktail mats when Shawn and I pour a drink, but then I punk out and put them away. I know I just said I don’t like things that are “just for decoration”, but these are vintage and one-of-a-kind. It’s gonna take me a minute before I’m ready to release them to my destructive husband! LOL!
Thanks again to my FABULOUS sponsors (below) for helping me make my home beautiful!
